How can I start posting to Discord?

After you’ve uploaded and activated the plugin, go to Settings -> WP to Discord.

There, you need to add the channel name and Webhook URL. These two fields are required for the plugin to work properly. The other options are optional. Save the settings.

On the post editor page, before you publish the post, simply click “Add to Discord” and select the desired Discord channel.

Click “Publish,” and you’re done!

You can add as many Discord channels as you want.

Follow these step-by-step instructions to create a webhook for your Discord channel:

  1. Open Discord: Launch the Discord application or navigate to the Discord website (https://discord.com/) and log in using your account credentials.
  2. Select your server: On the left-hand side, find the server you want to create the webhook for and click on it.
  3. Access server settings: Locate the server name at the top left corner of the screen, click on the downward arrow next to it, and then click on “Server Settings” from the dropdown menu.
  4. Navigate to Integrations: In the server settings menu on the left, click on “Integrations.”
  5. Create a webhook: Click on the “Webhooks” tab, then click on the “Create Webhook” button.
  6. Customize your webhook: You can now customize your webhook by giving it a name, selecting the channel it will post to, and uploading an avatar. You can leave the default settings if you prefer.
  7. Copy webhook URL: After customizing your webhook, make sure to click “Save” at the bottom of the page. Then, click on the “Copy Webhook URL” button to copy the webhook URL to your clipboard. This URL is essential for connecting external applications (like the WP to Discord plugin) to your Discord channel.
  8. Use the webhook URL: Now that you have your webhook URL, you can paste it into the appropriate field in plugin to enable communication between the two platforms.
